Privacy

Short version: we don’t use cookies, we don’t sell or share anything, and we only hold what you choose to send us.

Who we are

This site is run by Shiverbug Studios Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 16485763, at Victoria Building, Victoria Road, Middlesbrough, TS1 3AP, United Kingdom. For anything on this page, write to contact@shiverbugstudios.com.

Visiting the site

We count visits with GoatCounter. It sets no cookies and doesn’t track you from site to site. It records which page was viewed, the site that sent you, your browser, screen size and country. It works the country out from your IP address and doesn’t store the address itself.

The site is hosted by GitHub Pages, which, like any web host, keeps server logs, including IP addresses, for security. That’s covered by GitHub’s privacy statement.

Fonts, images and video are served from this site, so no page contacts Google or any other third party to load them.

The contact form

The form is handled by Formspree, which passes your message to our inbox. We use what you send only to reply to you, and to carry on the conversation if you want to work with us. We keep a message for as long as the conversation it started is going on, and no longer. If you email us directly, the same applies.

The newsletter

If you sign up for Out of Water news, your email address is kept by Buttondown, who send the emails for us. We only use it to send game news. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.

Links elsewhere

Links to Discord, social networks, Teesside University and our team’s own portfolios take you to sites with their own privacy policies. Nothing from them is embedded here.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see what we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Email contact@shiverbugstudios.com and we’ll do it. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
